Professional Development

My professional development is rooted in my commitment to ensuring I meet my students where they are at, and to also stay abreast of current and evidence-based approaches to ensure that I don’t leave them there. The below lists my current professional development. I am keen to continue to add to this list.

I value all feedback, including students who provide insights into areas where I might improve my teaching practice, or suggestions for new things I might try. Student feedback that I could improve my lecture style sent me down the path of teaching and learning scholarship.

Empty Classroom

Even though Bridget was what some might refer to as a ‘natural’ in the classroom, she sought to further hone her skills by completing the University Teaching Certificate Program at the University of Windsor. She sought to do so not merely to ensure her success in the classroom, but to develop strategies to best address considerations of equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and student success in the classroom.

I completed the University Teaching Certificate at the University of Windsor in September 2023. The overall goal of the UTC is for participants to develop their teaching practice, with the goal of enhancing student learning. As a graduate, I gained both theoretical knowledge and skills.  Below is a list of the courses I took.
